International Organ Competition



October 7th - 9th 2026

The competition will take place in the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church in Dolný Kubín, Slovakia on Thomas Jann organ from 2014.

Deadline for the delivery of the video-recordings is July 15th 2026

Only video-recordings on real pipe organ will be accepted, Hauptwerk recordings are not allowed. Together with the video-recording a complete disposition of the instrument must be sent to the above-mentioned email address. 


ROUND 1

1. One of the following pieces:

Johann Sebastian Bach / Johann Ernst of Saxe-Weimar: 

Concerto in G major, BWV 592 (all movements)

or

Johann Sebastian Bach / Antonio Vivaldi:

Concerto in C major, BWV 594 (first movement without tempo indication)

2. One piece composed after 1840

Total time of both pieces must not exceed 20 minutes.


ROUND 2 - FINAL

1. One of the following pieces:

3. Two parts from the piece by Štefan Németh-Šamorínsky (1896-1975): Partita profana (Vítanie, Chromatická invencia, Koncertná etuda, Ostinato, Finále)

Two parts from the piece by Štefan Németh-Šamorínsky (1896-1975): Sonate a tre per organo solo /I. Allegretto, II. Andante, III. Allegro ma non troppo/

or

Štefan Németh-Šamorínsky (1896-1975): Concerto per organo solo – I. Con moto

Total time of Round 2 must not exceed 30 minutes. It is also permitted to play parts from cycles or symphonies.


Prizes

1st prize: 

1500,-€ + remunerated organ recital at Kubin Organ Festival 2027

2nd prize: 

700,-€ + remunerated organ recital at Kubin Musical Autumn 2027

3rd prize: 

Full scholarship for the Schola Arvenzis International Master Classes 2027 

COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS

The competition is open to candidates from all countries whose age does not exceed 30 years on the first day of the competition (i.e. those born on or after 8th of October 1995).

The competition has only one category and is a two-round with a pre-selection round in form of video-recording.

The application must be submitted between June 1, 2026 and July 15, 2026 at the latest.

The participation fee is 70,- and is irreversible.

The application will not be accepted if the participant does not deliver the confirmation of the payment of the participation fee and a photo of the citizen card (ID card or passport) or driver's license to the email address oravaorganprix@gmail.com, no later than July 15, 2026.

The organizer will provide the registration assistant to the competitors.

Competitors pay their own accommodation and travel expenses.
